The Internet’s Syd Returns: Inside Her Most Evolved Solo Album Yet
The Internet's Syd returns with her highly anticipated third solo album 'Beard' on July 17. Listen to the new single 'Callin' and check out upcoming tour dates!
If you’ve been missing that signature velvet voice that defined the 2010s alternative R&B scene, it’s time to celebrate. Syd—our favorite GRAMMY-winning innovator and the visionary co-founder of The Internet—is officially in her next era. Mark your calendars for July 17, 2026, because her third solo album, Beard, is about to be the soundtrack to your entire summer.

Since grabbing a GRAMMY for co-writing Beyoncé’s literal masterpiece “Plastic Off the Sofa,” Syd has been quietly cooking up what is easily her most evolved and impressive project to date. Dropping via Free Lunch/Warner Records, Beard is a true coming-of-age record… and she didn’t come alone. She tapped a god-tier roster of collaborators, including Raphael Saadiq, Big Sean, Rodney Jerkins, James Fauntleroy, Van Hunt, Blu June, and Jordan Ward.
But it’s the album’s title that really has us feeling seen. Syd is flipping society’s beauty standards on their head, naming the project after her own peach fuzz.
“Beard is a coming of age album for me,” Syd explained. “It’s a snapshot of what my life looks like right now. The title was inspired by the peach fuzz on my upper lip that society has always taught me to hate. I fell in love with my peach fuzz and it made me rethink everything that was supposed to make me feel insecure... The title also represents the way I see myself in relation to my peers, especially in music. ‘The bearded lady.’ Not so much a spectacle in my case, but an anomaly and an outlier. Hard to compare.”
Need a taste right now? The lead single, “Callin” (feat. Blu June), is already out. It’s an instant-crush anthem packed with crisp hi-hats, mesmerizing vocal harmonies, and that effortless, undeniable swagger only Syd can deliver.
To top it all off, she’s taking the magic across the pond for a string of European tour dates late this summer. You can pre-save Beard here.
