Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered Announced for 2027, Bringing Agent 47's Earliest Hits to Modern Consoles
Saber Interactive is giving the iconic IO Interactive stealth trilogy the glow-up treatment.
“Welcome back, 47.”
It’s a phrase that sends a shiver down the spine of any veteran stealth fan, and soon, we’ll be hearing it again. Saber Interactive has officially unveiled Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered, a comprehensive collection bringing the origins of gaming’s deadliest barcode-tattooed assassin to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam) in 2027.
For those who missed the boat back in the early 2000s, this collection is bundling the foundational trio originally developed by IO Interactive: Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, and Hitman: Contracts. Saber Interactive is promising a faithful restoration that preserves the ruthless systems, dark tone, and player-driven freedom that made the franchise an industry icon, while injecting it with some much-needed modern quality-of-life updates.
Whether you’re reliving these thrilling hits or suiting up as Agent 47 for the very first time, the remaster aims to be the definitive way to experience the evolution of the series. The original games were famous for their punishing-yet-rewarding sandbox design. You aren’t just funneled down a corridor to shoot a target; you’re given a sprawling map, a variety of tools, and the freedom to experiment.
Saber is leaning hard into that legacy with this collection. Here is what players can expect when the trilogy launches:
Faithfully Restored Visuals: The original trilogy is getting a massive facelift, featuring upgraded character models, enhanced environments, and high-resolution textures that bring the early 2000s into the modern era.
Instant Graphics Toggle: Nostalgic for the chunky polygons of your youth? You can switch seamlessly between the original graphics and the enhanced visuals on the fly. Play the games exactly as you remember them, or rediscover them in a modern light.
Brand New Photo Mode: Because a perfectly executed fiber-wire takedown deserves to be framed. A dedicated photo mode will let players pause the action, explore the intricate environments, and capture Agent 47 at his most lethal.
Preserved Tactical Freedom: Disguise yourself, improvise solutions, and turn mistakes into bloody opportunities. Saber is keeping the core gameplay loop intact: every mission offers multiple paths, and every decision carries heavy risks.
If you’re worried about how these beloved classics will be handled, you can likely breathe a sigh of relief. Saber Interactive has quietly become the industry’s premier studio for high-quality, faithful remasters.
The team is currently riding high on a massive hot streak, having previously partnered on the highly successful Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, the upcoming Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered, and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered. Add in their historic work on Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and the seemingly impossible The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt port for the Nintendo Switch, and it’s clear Agent 47’s legacy is in very capable hands.
Hitman Classic Trilogy Remastered is currently available to wish list and will launch on PC (Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2027. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one, so stay tuned for more gameplay deep dives as Saber Interactive prepares to pull the trigger.
