EJ Jones Channels Classic Soul on Uplifting New Anthem “Luh Mo’ Love”
Memphis native EJ Jones drops his powerful new single “Luh Mo’ Love.” Read how the Quality Control star is reviving classic soul for a new era.
Soul music has always served as the emotional compass of its era, and 23-year-old Memphis native EJ Jones is stepping up to carry that torch forward. The rising Quality Control Music star released his timely new single and accompanying visual for “Luh Mo’ Love,” a warm, purposeful groove that urges community healing over hardened division.
Co-produced and co-written by Jones, “Luh Mo’ Love” finds the young crooner at his creative summit. Channeling the observational empathy of Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Goin’ On,” Jones asks listeners to look inward and soften their edges. “Listen, you find a good love you got to keep it / Tell me why we gotta act hard, like we don’t need it,” he sings with a gritty, spirited conviction deeply rooted in his church upbringing.
Rather than preaching from an untouchable pedestal, Jones grounds the anthem in his own lived reality. He acknowledges his own valid reasons to succumb to bitterness—singing, “I lost my mama to the streets / I lost my daddy to the streets… I got every reason to be mad at the whole world”—but deliberately chooses to reject the temptation of hate.
That powerful contrast is brought to life in the track’s official music video. The visual transitions from a dangerous, black-and-white world shaped by hateful choices into a vibrant, color-drenched block party where faith, resilience, and shared love anchor the community.

The single arrives during a sharp, undeniable ascent for the artist affectionately dubbed “The Chosen Child.” Jones first caught the ear of Quality Control Music co-founder Kevin “Coach K” Lee last year with a viral, show-stopping cover of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come,” which swiftly led to his label deal. He proved his staying power with a viral rendition of Bobby Caldwell’s “What You Won’t Do for Love” and commanding vocal performances as a musician’s musician capable of mainstream dominance.
Jones capitalized on that foundational momentum by closing out last year with the smash hit “Gas Station Love” which spawned a remix with multi-platinum rapper BigxthaPlug, and cracked the Top 15 across Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs, Adult R&B Airplay, and Rhythmic Airplay charts.
The industry has taken notice. Earning placements on 2026 Artists to Watch lists for Billboard, Complex, and Pandora, as well as being named a YouTube Trending Artist on the Rise, Jones recently brought his surging catalog to the stage. He spent the spring of 2026 wowing audiences on the Blues Is Alright Tour, holding his own alongside heritage soul legends like King George, Tucka, and Lenny Williams.
Jones is currently putting the finishing touches on his debut project. If “Luh Mo’ Love” is any indication, EJ Jones is the one to watch of the new generation of R&B artists.
