Couch Is Ready to Speak Loudly with Debut Album Big Talk and International Tour
There’s a tenderness at the core of Big Talk, the debut LP from Boston-based seven-piece Couch, out October 24. But don’t mistake softness for subtlety—this is an album that soars.
With a retro-pop flair and glimmers of classic soul, Couch invites listeners into their world of multidimensional love, emotional clarity, and fearless growth. “It’s moody and nostalgic, but also warm and bright,” says guitarist Zach Blankstein. “We’re stepping into a more honest version of ourselves—and learning to stay there.”
On the first single, “What Were You Thinking,” vocalist Tema Siegel channels early heartbreak into a radiant reclamation. “I’m standing up for myself in a way I couldn’t at 19,” she explains. “I’m speaking to him like a peer now.”
Most of the tracks began in bedrooms or over voice notes between bandmates before being road-tested in sold-out U.S. venues and European stages with Lake Street Dive and Cory Wong. That chemistry, refined and real, pulses through every song.
Mastered by Colin Leonard, Big Talk captures the joy of collaboration and the pain of coming into your own—with horns, grooves, and harmonies that feel just as intimate as they do cinematic.
From DIY beginnings to their first international headline tour, launching November 6, Couch is offering more than music—they're offering connection, truth, and yes, a whole lot of soul.
