Carlie Hanson: The Wisconsin Prodigy Returns with "Too Late to Cry"
Carlie Hanson: Back with a Bang - Is "Too Late to Cry" Her Biggest Hit Yet?
Wisconsin-bred prolific singer-songwriter Carlie Hanson is back with her highly anticipated new single, "Too Late to Cry," produced by the innovative and groundbreaking savant Slush Puppy. This latest release marks a powerful return for Hanson, showcasing her signature blend of raw emotion and infectious energy.
"Too Late to Cry" is a stirring anthem of resilience and self-empowerment, reflecting Hanson's journey of personal growth and artistic evolution. The track combines poignant lyrics with an irresistible pop beat, creating a sound that is both deeply moving and undeniably catchy.
“It’s funny because I didn’t see ‘Too Late to Cry’ as a song that would even come out," Hanson reveals. "I first recorded the verses in my bedroom studio in LA and at the time, it was just something I had to get off my chest. I thought I’d keep it on my hard drive forever and move on. I wrote the verses in 10 minutes and had no idea that it would become the title of this next project."
Hanson's reflection on the song's creation is deeply personal: "I felt really lonely when I started the song. That intro guitar part immediately made me feel a moody nostalgia. ‘Look how far we’ve come and far apart, I hope that you see me’. That first line represents the whole EP, in my mind. Over the last few years, I’ve grown apart from a lot of people I thought would stick around forever. I don’t have ill feelings toward any of those people… Whether it be friends, family, or even people I was working with, or the label I was signed to. I think life moves fast and people continue to grow in their own ways, and I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be right now. Even though some things took a turn and didn’t go the way I imagined, I gotta keep pushing and moving forward. It’s too late to cry!"
